What is Rent-Geared-to-Income?

Rent Geared to Income (RGI) is a type of housing subsidy program in Canada that aims to make housing more affordable for low-income individuals and families. Under this program, eligible tenants pay rent based on their income level, which means that the amount of rent they pay is directly tied to their income. The higher the income, the higher the rent, and the lower the income, the lower the rent.

To be eligible for RGI, tenants need to meet certain income and residency requirements, and they may also be required to provide proof of income, such as pay stubs or tax returns.
